Mr. Peanutbutter is a male Labrador Retriever. The two are still friendly with one another, but when they arrive back to her apartment Mr. Peanutbutter gives Diane the signed divorce papers. Mr. Peanutbutter apologizes to Pickles, telling her that he wants her to know everything about him, but he likes her and that every time he sees her he likes her a little bit more. BoJack says he doesn't know just that something bad will happen. He has yellow fur, a brown nose, a slim and muscular build. Diane tries to bring it up again but Pickles returns to take their order, starting another conversation with Mr. Peanutbutter, making Diane jealous. Diane angrily tells him he didn't trust that she knew something, and he says he just wanted to double-check anyway. Joey tells her that's exactly right and she totally gets him. At least that's the way I think of it. Mr. Peanutbutter asks if she wants to leave, but she says no, insisting she's fun. He attended Northwestern University. However, that same evening Jessica dumped him, Mr. Peanutbutter met Diane Nguyen, an aspiring writer who was a part-time caterer at the time and was catering for the event he was at, and who he met earlier at a Starbucks that Diane also worked at. Although off-screen, BoJack reminds Mr. Peanutbutter that he was in a rehab facility, and Mr. Peanutbutter subsequently leaves. Pickles encourages Mr. Peanutbutter to visit BoJack in rehab if thats the thing thats been weighing on his mind, and Mr. Peanutbutter reaffirms that BoJack being in rehab is the only thing on his mind. However, Mr. Peanutbutter answers the door to find Von Trapp and his followers, and they eerily state that they "know what [he] did.". She says Mr. Peanutbutter doesn't even know Buzzy. However, he is not as dumb as he might be letting on, as stupidity is part of his persona and a result of his naivety, and he can at times show hidden depth. After trying and failing to make it work, Diane confessed she was no longer happy and the two ended up getting divorced in season 5. Diane does admit that he went all out. He explains it's the company car, and it matches his hat. He tells BoJack "all I ever wanted was to be your friend, and you treat me like a big joke.". During the car ride, Mr. Peanutbutter asks BoJack if he's going to wear his everyday attire to the wedding. He then splatters his meatball sandwich on his new suit and then asks Mr. Peanutbutter to buy him another suit. She ends up being forced to talk politics with Ben Stein and Tim Allen for half an hour, making her even angrier and more bitter towards her situation, but it made her think more about government. Despite his happy-go-lucky demeanor, there are traces of nihilism in him, believing "the key to being happy is to just distract yourself with unimportant nonsense until you eventually die.". Katrina is excited to go to a real Hollywood party with him, but she makes him promise he won't leave her alone. When Mr. Peanutbutter asks BoJack why he dislikes him, BoJack admits that he is jealous. He quickly apologizes and tells her he has to go for a walk. Pickles is dancing on the coffee table when Mr. Peanutbutter comes to apologize for talking about his ex-wives. Mr. Peanutbutter tells them that's great seeing that's just what they wanted. Todd says that one of those vehicles is his car. He's glad he knows she hates parties and they won't ever have that argument ever again. Mr. Peanutbutter says anytime he went to a Halloween party with Katrina, they always got in a big fight, but Jessica tells him she isn't Katrina, and they'll have fun. She compliments his performance on Philbert. Mr. Peanutbutter then admits to Diane that he does get lonely sometimes. He approaches a rhino smoking a cigarette and tries to get in his face, and he tries his cigarette away. At the desert, an upset Pickles doesn't want to sit on the blanket with Mr. Peanutbutter. BoJack gets back on the phone with his mom and says it was no one important. However, to her displeasure, as she hates big gestures, he threw her a surprise birthday party. Following, she grabs her keys and heads out to aid them. BoJack then asks why the set looks like his house. Diane tells him he can either date older women or grow up, both options sir which he isn't too thrilled about. Mr. Peanutbutter ends up proposing to Pickles, instead of telling her the truth, setting the cycle of all his failed marriages back in motion. She takes him outside and uses the toilet paper the house had been covered with by teenagers (including a teenage Todd) to turn him into a mummy. She then publishes her article, which leads to the two throwing and breaking their computers and coffee mugs, and Mr. Peanutbutter pins Diane to the wall as the two struggle against one another. He first moved to Los Angeles in the late 80s or early 90s, where he ended up co-piloting the plane that brought him to California, which happened purely because he walked into a room without looking. Todd is conflicted about whether to tell BoJack this, however, he decides against it when he realizes BoJack caused him to sabotage his rock opera. He also tells them how Diane never got her jacket back and tells them they should ask her about it. Mr. Peanutbutter tells Max that BoJack sold the restaurant to him and Joey Pogo. After Mr. Peanutbutter walks away BoJack once again pulls out Hollyhock's unopened letter from his jacket, looks at it, and his hands shake. Meanwhile, Todd calls Mr. Peanutbutter again and tells him that his idea to start including male customers was a success, loving the safe spaces for women more than the women themselves. BoJack and Gina film the nude painting scene, however, they have to cut when Mr. Peanutbutter starts shouting "Oohs" and "Aahs" for support. Pickles is introduced in The Dog Days Are Over in Season 5, where she begins dating Mr. Peanutbutter as his divorce with Diane is being finalized. After Princess Carolyn gets her out of her funk and hires her at her new agency for a Celebrity Tweet ghostwriter, Diane goes to the restaurant Elefante to meet with Sextina Aquafina, one of her new clients. The two drive home, acting awkward about talking about the baby, although they had always agreed that they didn't want kids. This starts an argument where Mr. Peanutbutter says that at least no one in his family has anger issues, saying that Pickles father Franco is "a hothead with a little pug complex," and that her mother more than likely provokes him on purpose, suggesting that they get off on it. She turns on a podcast which happens to be Diane's for Girl Croosh, making things awkward, especially when she brings up Mr. Peanutbutter dating Pickles, and how she's half his age. BoJack replies officially it's breaking and entering but he believes it's kind of for everything. They awkwardly shake hands before she gets out of the car. Mr. Peanutbutter appears behind him and after BoJack questions why hes here, he explains hes the face of depression, to BoJacks confusion. After BoJack is done filming for the day he asks Mr. Peanutbutter if he wants to get dinner. Mr. Peanutbutter would continue to do this every yeardespite BoJack hating the parties, although he would always get extremely drunk by the end and would always tell the leaving guests to do it again next year. Mr. Peanutbutter thinks it's a wonderful idea and tells Oxnard to put all his money into spaghetti strainers, to Oxnard's dismay. After Woodchuck says during a press conference that if a state senator was willing to actually petition for an amendment to the constitution that would democratically allow him to bid his governor title on a ski race, then he would accept the challenge. She's sad because she thinks things will go back to normal the next day. In the 90s he had a tuft of wavy hair. Mr. Peanutbutter says he needs a drink and asks if there is a bar. Joey then apologizes for being awful to Pickles earlier and says since Mr. Peanutbutter has been such a good friend it would be weird having sex with his fiance but once they were in it it felt like "two naked hearts raw and exposed but safe in the home they found in each other." Mr. Peanutbutter laughs nervously at this. Pickles then says that can only happen if she also sleeps with someone else. He says the flooding ruined Julie Brown's new vintage dress she just bought and ruined the big finale of the show where her puppet plays Beethoven's fifth on the bongos. BoJack Horseman had feelings for Diane Nguyen (voiced by Alison Brie) throughout all five seasons of the show but never once did he actually get the chance to be with her. He confesses that he cheated on her twice a few months ago with Diane, much to Pickles grief, and she throws the ring again and starts screaming at such a high frequency that the glass window shatters. Mr. Peanutbutter says that the only thing hes interested in is making things even between him and Pickles. Mr. Peanutbutter took a long list of low-level acting gigs during the mid-2000s. This is because her determined, overly dedicated, and somewhat aggressive nature was born as a result of growing up with four lazy, irresponsible brothers who enjoyed tormenting her, an uncaring father who didn't support anything she did, and a spiteful and verbally abusive mother who resents and nags her for leaving her terrible home life to Mr. Peanutbutter shows the latter problem after he cheats on Pickles by sleeping with Dianeand he asks her to break the news to Pickles, which Diane rightfully refuses to do. The next room she goes into is themed after Starbucks in the Season 3 episode The BoJack Horseman Show that is where the two met. Everyone leaves as Princess Carolyn says that the party is over.
